We believe that there is only one God. He is the Creator of
the universe. It is through Him that all things were made. God is omnipotent,
omniscient, and omnipresent. He is the great I AM. He is eternal and unchanging.
He is one God, yet He manifests himself to us as the Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit.
Jesus is the Son of God, the incarnation of God, the promised Messiah written
about in Old Testament Scriptures. He was perfect, sinless, and yet human. He
took the sin of mankind and through His death on the cross paid the price for
our sins and provided redemption for mankind. He was resurrected from the dead
after three days, appeared to the disciples and many others, and then ascended
to the right hand of the Father where he serves as Mediator between God and man.
Salvation is through no other than Christ.
The Holy Spirit inspired men to write the Scriptures and His presence helps us
to understand the truth, provides comfort to believers, and empowers believers
to live to the fullest in their relationship with God and others.
We believe that man was created in the image of God. He was tempted by Satan in
the Garden and sinned. Because of that, all men have since been born in sin. All
men are condemned through their sin and salvation comes through an
acknowledgment of their sin, and acceptance of Jesus as Savior. This will
produce a life of repentance, a turning away from sin and self, and turning
toward Jesus.
We believe that the Scriptures are the inerrant and divinely inspired Word of
God. They are the absolute authority in determining the faith and practice of
God's people. The Church is the baptized body of believers in Christ who meet
together for worship, instruction in the Word, fellowship, and prayer. There are
two ordinances of the Church: Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
Upon the death of the believer, he goes immediately to be with God. There is a
future judgment of the believing and unbelieving. God's principles for living
mean that we can have eternal life but that we can also have the "abundant life"
now, in this life.
